Well, the childminding is going great! Hannah has recently started to talk a little bit here and there, and, much more importantly, she's started to listen occasionally... I'm so proud, i can actually get her attention... Provided she's not too busy... Or tired... Or just moody :)

She's going through a phase of slapping and kicking out of love... she gets so full of happiness and love for someone that she slaps 'em... This is fine for me, however Anna isnt enjoying it so much... It's not toooo bad if i take off Hannah's shoes. Hannah seems to love playing with Anna... Today she was out in the hall, and emptied the waste paper bin. Then she came walking into the room with it on her head (as she does) and in a fit of generosity, she took it off her head, and put it on Anna's... Once again, Hannah happy, Anna not so sure... Hannah also took a tissue, and tried to clean Anna's face... more happiness, and more dirty looks...

Arran is much easier to look after now too, he's sitting up by himself, and also sleeping a lot when I'm there. I get to play with the two girls a lot more. After his nap today the girls were out in the hall playing ringaringarosie... and running around... i took Arran out, and sat on the floor with him, and he laughed his little tiny ass off at the girls spinning and running and falling down.... Such a HUGE laugh for such a little baby... So cute.

All in all, i'm loving the job.I've started a distance learning course in childminding, so far i've sent in 2 assignments, and received a third which is due in a week or so. I got the results back from the first one... 2 Bs and an A... not good enough! Hopefully the second one will be better.

I've still got that persistent cough that i got last november, but i am fully off cigarettes now. Been almost 2 weeks, and i dont ever want to smoke again... I'm hoping that the current regime of steroids, antibiotics, and an inhaler will clear this wheeziness, and it wont come back... Have to go for an xray next week, just in case i have lung cancer or something... I have to sleep in the spare room at the moment, because i cough all night. Getting very very tired of being sick.All in all though, life is good...

As an attempt to reintroduce myself to society after a struggle with post natal depression, and a superiority complex, I am actually going to start a job! Ok, its 'just' childminding. I will be looking after my own child, Hannah, who is almost 2, and a 4 month old baby boy, named Aaron, and a 2 and a half year old, named Anna. Their father is a Church of Ireland Minister, and their mother works with children with special needs in the local primary school... Just why these people considered me of sufficient mettle to guide their childred I will never understand.

I had a dry run last week. True to form, Anna and Aaron were no trouble, whereas Hannah proceeded to earn her new title of Passive Destroyer. I am looking after the three kids in Anna and Aaron's home, and they assure me they will Hannah-proof their house before i go back. They had better, unless they wish to come home again to the scene that greeted them. Hannah had found their CD rack, and had first taken the CD's out of the rack, and then continued to remove the cds, take the boxes apart, and remove all the inlays. And that was apart from the fact that she had taken every single toy from the toy box, and attempted to rip their books.

I will be working 3 mornings a week, for under 2 hours each morning... and that just during term time, so i think its about right for someone who hasnt had to be anywhere for the guts of 3 years. Plus, i'm really really really lazy.

Cuddling Aaron, it's hard not to be horribly broody, but i know i'm not ready yet for another. And i'm still fully enjoying Hannah, she keeps me laughing all day.

I guess we'll see how it all goes
